〈The Standard, Aug 22, 2026〉Henderson Land’s chief financial officer, Andrew Fung Hau-chung, mentioned in a Bloomberg interview that China’s tightening of capital controls, unclear tax rules on offshore assets, and uncertain interest rates have added market variables, and the market has yet to fully assess the relative impacts.

He noted that the mid- to high-end housing market has recently shown signs of cooling, but the ultra-luxury market remains stable.

〈Hong Kong Business, Aug 21, 2026〉More than 70% of funds establishing an Asian presence have opted for Hong Kong, as demand from financial firms helped push Grade A office vacancy to a 31-month low.

The trend reverses last year's preference towards Singapore, where seven out of 10 chose the city-state compared with two in Hong Kong, said Sam Gourlay, head of office leasing advisory at JLL Hong Kong.

This comes as overall Grade A office vacancy rate fell to 12.8% at the end of July, matching its December 2023 level and marking the lowest rate in 31 months.

〈Asian Post, Aug 19, 2026 〉Prudential Hong Kong Limited has signed an agreement with Swire Properties to expand its office accommodation at Taikoo Place, taking its total space there to approximately 83,000 square feet.

Under the deal, Prudential will consolidate its operations into One Taikoo Place and One Island East. The insurer has been based at Taikoo Place since 2011.

Tim Blackburn, chief executive of Swire Properties said the expansion formed part of Swire Properties' HK$100b investment plan for Taikoo Place, which he said was positioned to serve corporates from Hong Kong, mainland China and overseas.

〈RTHK, News, Aug 18, 2026〉The DAB on Thursday announced the formation of a harbour connect group that aims to help build a world-class Victoria Harbour waterfront environment to improve the public's sense of well-being and boost the economy.

Lawmaker Vincent Cheng, one of its convenors, said the group also hopes to step up promotional efforts with regards to Hong Kong’s harbourside promenades to tourists at the same time so that they don't miss out on a chance to savour the signature waterfront when visiting major attractions nearby.
