〈The Standard, Jan, 04,2025〉Grand Seasons, the phase XIIC of Lohas Park in Tseung Kwan O, may unveil the first batch as soon as next Monday, its co-developer Wheelock Properties said.
The first price list will include at least 130 units and showrooms will open to the public tomorrow, Wheelock said.
The project is being jointly developed by Wheelock and MTR Corporation.
〈RTHK News, Jan, 03,2025〉Hong Kong's retail sales were down 7.3 percent in November on a year-on-year basis, according to official figures released on Thursday.
It marked the ninth consecutive month of year-on-year declines, following a 2.8 percent skid in October and 6.9 percent drop in September.
Sales of motor vehicles and parts saw the most dramatic drop in November, at 34.4 percent.
Total retail sales plunged 7.1 percent in the first 11 months of last year, compared to the same period in 2023.
The government said the declines continued because of a change in people's consumption patterns and the relatively strong Hong Kong dollar.
〈Hong Kong Business, Jan, 02,2025〉Hong Kong recorded 5,510 property transactions in December of 2024, including new and second-hand homes, parking spaces, shops, industrial facilities and offices, according to Land Registry data released on Friday. This represents a 28.3 per cent drop from November but a 46.4 per cent improvement from a year earlier. The total value amounted to HK$42.8 billion (US$5.5 billion), down 33.3 per cent from November but up 27.4 per cent year on year.
Home transactions fell 35 per cent from November to 4,103 after a rebound in the previous two months, although this represented a 40 per cent jump year on year. Residential sales totalled HK$32.6 billion.
A total of 67,979 deals were recorded in 2024, up 17 per cent from 58,035 in 2023 and the highest since 96,133 in 2021, the data showed. Residential sales for the year surged 23.5 per cent to 53,099.
“The growth [in residential property transactions] was mainly contributed by primary sales, thanks to the removal of property curbs and the start of rate cut cycle,” said Eddie Kwok, executive director of valuation and advisory services at CBRE Hong Kong.
〈CNN, Jan, 01,2025〉The 2,500 exhibits were showcased in a launch ceremony of PANDA GO! FEST HK, the city’s largest panda-themed exhibition, at Hong Kong’s airport on Monday. They will be publicly displayed at the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui, a popular shopping district, this weekend before setting their footprint at three other locations this month.
One designated spot is Ocean Park, home to the twin cubs, their parents and two other pandas gifted by Beijing this year. The design of six of the sculptures, made of recycled rubber barrels and resins among other materials, was inspired by these bears.
The cubs — whose birth in August made their mother Ying Ying the world’s oldest first-time panda mom — may meet visitors as early as February.
